Atlantic Row
2009
Zennor rower, Phil Pring, together
with Cape Cornwall rower Ben 'Skippy' Cummings
rowed across the Atlantic Ocean in the winter of 2009/10
in aid of Cornwall Blind Association. Despite
hitting rocks just off Antigua, the pair had crossed
the finish line safe and sound, although their boat
suffered some significant damage.

details can be found on Phil and Ben's website: www.visionofcornwall.co.uk.
Atlantic Row
2007
Paul Harris and Steve Gardner, both members of Zennor Gig Club
(Penzance), completed their row across the Atlantic in the 2007 Woodvale
Atlantic Rowing Race following the building of their boat 'The Reason
Why'.
The two rowers left La Gomera in the Canary Islands on 2nd
December 2007 and arrived in Antigua on 27th January
2008. The route is 2,552 nautical miles (2,936 miles) as the crow
flies although the route taken by rowers is always longer than this. The
row took 55 days 12 hours and 3 minutes to complete.
22 boats started the race, of which 2 retired.
The Reason Why came 4th in the pairs class and
6th overall.
